ART & Nature in the Arboretum - Sunday, September 22, 2019
ART & Nature in the Arboretum is an outdoor art event designed to promote awareness of the Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden while providing local artists with an opportunity to showcase their talents and abilities.
Select local artists from various disciplines are invited to participate in this annual event - these artists' work will suggest a relationship with nature and they will demonstrate and/or discuss their creative process with the public.

DATES TO REMEMBER:
1. September 2nd: LAST DAY TO SUBMIT ARTIST APPLICATION and PHOTOS 2. September 7th: INVITED ARTISTS' REGISTRATION FEE OF $25.00 IS DUE 3. September 16th: ARTISTS' DONATED ARTWORK IS DUE 4. September 22nd: ARTISTS NEED TO BE COMPLETELY SET-UP BY 9:30AM |

ARTIST PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
- Artists are expected to demonstrate at least some facet of their work during the event.
- Artists are expected to engage with the public and discuss their creative process and work and its' relationship with nature.
- Artists’ space should be kept clean and professional for the duration of the event
- Artists are responsible for providing their own tents, tables, artistic items as applicable, and for the setup and breakdown of their assigned space.
- The artist must be set-up at their space by 9:30am. The artist will not breakdown prior to the end of the event. Violating this rule may exclude entrance to our future events.
- The May Arboretum Society is not responsible for any damage, loss or claims resulting from the artist setting up, demonstrating or selling their artwork.
- Prior to the event, the Society will email the artist with their assigned location in a garden, setup instructions, and any additional information needed.
- The May Arboretum Society has permission to photograph the artist and their work during the event and use the photographs for promotional purposes.
- The artist will pay a $25 registration fee and donate one piece of their artwork to the Society to be used for fundraising purposes. The Society will provide a receipt to the artist for tax purposes. The artwork must be delivered to the Arboretum Office on or before September 16th.
